Our history

Tradition for innovation

It started almost 150 years ago with the initiative and hard work of one family located at Gibostad on Senja –the second largest island in Norway. This foundation developed over time into Odd Berg Group, headquartered in Tromsø.

In early 1960s, the Odd Berg Group channeled resources into research and development (R&D) activities related to animal feed based on herring and capelin as raw material. A factory located in central part of Tromsø was acquired in 1964 and renamed Tromsø Fiskeindustri AS –Trofi® in short.

Tromsø Fiskeindustri AS. Year 1964.

After nearly 30 years within the fish meal and fish oil industry, Trofi® got access to a formulation concept for starter feed targeted to hatcheries in the aquaculture industry.

After optimizing formulations and adjusting existing production line, a range of trial feed based on a specially designed agglomeration technique was launched under the brand AgloNorse®.

Initially planned as a complementary operation for low season in fishery, the Odd Berg Group and Trofi® decided in 2003 to shift the whole production capacity to AgloNorse® starter feed.
